I started photography at age 15 in Hanau, Germany. I learned photography from an old Luftwaffe Photographer. He had been a prisoner of war then after the war was offered a job teaching US service men photography. His knowledge was extensive and he taught me everything he knew. After returning to the United States I continued my photography working for my high school and college newspapers and yearbooks. I won numerous awards for my photography at the local, state and national levels.
I minored in Photography while seeking my doctorate in Education at East Texas A&M. I even took a semester off and traveled throughout the Midwest taking pictures of children in department stores. I went on to several other careers fearing that I could not make the living that I wanted, But the love of being a photographer was always in the back of my mind. Now I am successful and financially secure. I want to try to finish my life doing the one thing that I always loved - photography.
